I was up early this morning in order to go the post office and supermarket before work (I start at 8am). I realised halfway to the post office that I'd forgotten the parcel I wanted to post. Nope, another 10 hours to go...

Between early-waking kitties and bouts of indigestion and insomnia, I have not been sleeping well lately - so this was not a great time for me to decide to kick my Pepsi Max habit and exist completely caffeine-free.

My colleagues always hate me when holiday season rolls around, because I love to decorate my desk. Personally I think this year's Halloween offering is fairly restrained - I drew the line at the motion-activated laughing skeleton, after all...

I have discovered that listening to Hamilton whilst drawing up book order lists is surprisingly relaxing.

Even though it does lead to me bopping in my chair and getting odd looks from my work colleagues when getting a little too enthusiastic lip-syncing along to 'Guns and Ships'.

"Everybody give it up for America's favourite fighting Frenchman!"

It took three weeks but I have finally succumbed to the annual bout of Freshers' Flu.

Which, in reality, let's face it, is not flu at all but just a particularly virulent cold. But Freshers Flu is an alliteration and sounds so much more of a thing than Freshers' Cold ( Read more... )

So I was kinda tired and grumpy after work today - Freshers' Fair, oh man, it wears me out - and a friend emailed me this vid and now I'm dancing round my living room.

Love it. I may keep this on a loop for the next couple of weeks until uni settles down into its regular teaching rhythm.

I had a stack of books in my cataloguing and classification pile at work today - always the highlight of my day, cat and class - and when I got about halfway through I came across something I'd never seen before.
